Our upstream provider Liquid Web will be performing an evening maintenance on Aug 9th to migrate between data centers.
During the maintenance window, the Control Panel will be temporarily unavailable (approximately 1 hour) to ensure synchronization between locations. Also during this maintenance window, your websites and databases will experience temporarily READ ONLY mode to ensure accurate data transfer. After the migration, the database management IPs will be updated to the IPs listed at the link below. You will see this change reflected in the control panel as well.
NOTE: Database read only status will be based on size and complexity of individual database. Large databases may take 20-60 minutes for synchronization. The maintenance window is expected to last for approximately six hours.
Any further updates, as well as the list of new database IP’s can be found here: http://status.websitesettings.com/incidents/4fhqlqb2ytv7
Our help desk provider ZenDesk will be performing scheduled maintenance tomorrow August 18th. Some downtime may be experienced at our Help Desk. Emails sent to email@example.com will all be delivered, however there may be some delay during the maintenance window. More details can be found at the ZenDesk system status page.
We will be applying a security update to our Squid19 server today which will require a reboot. This will involve a short period of downtime while the patch is applied. This affects our Standard Hosting system only and will not affect any sites hosted in our Cloud system. This post will be updated when this is complete.
Update 11:45am PST: The update has been applied and all services are restored.
Over the next month we will be upgrading the MySQL database server to version 5 on our Standard servers Squid8 through Squid17. This may cause short outages for some applications and scripts that make database connections on these servers. If you’re not sure which server you are on, you can check using our server lookup tool. All sites hosted on our Cloud hosting system will be unaffected by this maintenance.
These upgrades are being applied to provide the best compatibility with WordPress and other modern scripts. WordPress has announced that version 3.2 will require MySQL 5, and more information can be found in their beta announcement. These upgrades will be completed prior to the release of 3.2.
We will update this post as the servers are upgraded and the maintenance is completed. Please make sure any scripts or applications you use on your website are compatible with MySQL 5. If you have any issues after the upgrades are complete please submit a support ticket and we will investigate further.
UPDATE 5/26: All servers have been upgraded to MySQL 5. As always, if you see any problems with your site please contact us through our help desk.
The websitesettings.com control panel for our Cloud Hosting system is currently down for maintenance. During this period the cloud control panel will be unavailable. All other services will remain online. For updates please see Rackspace’s status post.
We are performing emergency maintenance on our Squid 13 server to resolve a hardware issue. This may interrupt some services during the 60-minute maintenance window as hardware is replaced. We will update this post as the maintenance proceeds and is completed.
UPDATE 10:07am PST: Hardware replacement has begun.
UPDATE 10:29am PST: All services are reporting back up at this time. If you are still experiencing any problems with your site please open a support ticket and we will investigate.
